Tyler and I met eleven years ago at a campground in Ohio. Ty’s family regularly spent their weekends here and as fate would have it, my family was there on the same Labor Day weekend in 2007. My friend and I kept eyeing a group of older boys and ended up hanging out with them all weekend. Ty’s older brother dared us to kiss- and so we did. I was thirteen years old and he was fifteen. After that weekend, we stayed in touch through high school and I always thought “he’s too nice for me”. But as it turns out, the nice guy doesn’t always finish last! We started dating at the end of my senior year of high school in 2012. The rest is history!
We began seeing each other all the time, going to the gym together, going on vacations, he would visit me in college and go on all the cheesy dates you can think of! Two years later we started living together which brought MANY challenges but we became stronger than before. I must have been a decent roommate because in 2016, on the anniversary of when we met at the campground, he asked me to be his wife! Who knew on that day in 2007 I would meet my husband!? It’s so crazy to think about. Anyway- we had a 20-month engagement while I was finishing up school and my internship. We got married May 30, 2018 on a beach in North Carolina in front of close friends and family.
As newlyweds, we just moved into a new apartment, I started a “big girl job” and Tyler is finishing his degree in Operations Management and working full time. We have had a crazy journey throughout the last 6 years and have evolved so much as individuals and as couples. We are constantly striving to make improvements in our own health journeys- because there is always room to grow! We have had many struggles but also many accomplishments. We are now on a journey with Eifert Eats to inspire others to live a balanced and fulfilling life rooted in health and wellness habits!
